There are a number of good restaurants within a short walk or a short cab ride from Bay View Residential. There are hundreds if you widen your radius to include Zihuatanejo, which is only a 15 minute cab ride. All of the restaurants are available for your assessment via Google Reviews or Trip Advisor, but we will only mention the ones within walking distance. There are many more “just across the street” but the ones below are the restaurants we have gravitated to over the years for their consistency and friendly atmospheres.

El Faro
We list this as number one because it has it all: food, atmosphere and views. A short walk to the end of the beach and a gondola takes you up to El Faro. The view over Ixtapa beach is wonderful and the atmosphere is wonderful. The food and service is upscale but not outrageously expensive.

Casa Morelos
We’ve always enjoyed meals at Casa Morelos. Like most restaurants in Ixtapa, it is open air and in the maze of squares and shopping plazas in the commercial district across the street from the Bay View Grand. The owner is a very suave man who frequently checks in with the customers for a quick chat.

Bistro Soleiado
Located .5 km down towards the marina and away from the bustle of the commercial area, Soleiado is a very nice place to eat. They always have live music and the food is very well prepared and presented.

The General's Sports Bar & Restaurant
Originally a waiter at Chili Beans, “The General” opened his own place several years ago. His friendly and outgoing personality is infectious and it’s hard to resist going back again and again just because he’s so much fun.

Franks Bar and Grill
Similar in theme to The General’s Sports Bar, Canadian ex-pat Frank makes sure that if you want to watch sports, he’ll make it happen. On one occasion he gave me a laptop to watch a hockey game that was not on a regular broadcast.

Deborah is another Canadian ex-pat local restauranteur who has opened and run a few restaurants in Ixtapa. The food is consistently good and the prawn flambe is a very exciting prospect, try it and you’ll know what I mean….
