Ixtapa Beach
The 4km expanse of Ixtapa Beach is at your doorstep. The beach is firm, flat and wide and it is an Ixtapa tradition for the residents to walk the beach each morning. Walk east and you arrive at the free gondola up to El Faro restaurant. It has fantastic views of the length of beach, particularly beautiful at sunset. At the western end of the beach lies the Ixtapa Marina and Golf Course.
Playa Linda
The local buses pass the Bayview Grand at regular intervals, and the one to Playa Linda travels along a lovely landscaped boulevard around the Marina, passing Porto Ixtapa, Punta Ixtapa and the exclusive resort of Melia Azul and its Convention Centre to Playa Linda.
Isla Ixtapa
From Playa Linda one can take the 15 minute water taxi to Isla Ixtapa, an idyllic island with four beaches, beachside palapa restaurants, and wonderful snorkeling opportunities to view a fantastic variety of tropical fish swimming over the coral off Playa Coral on Isla Ixtapa.
Playa Municipal (downtown Zihuatanejo)
Zihuatanejo is one of the oldest fishing villages on the west coast and the local fishing fleet resides at Playa Municipal. There is always tourist activity, restaurants, shops, and a bustling market, beachside.
Playa La Ropa (Zihuatanejo)
Further from the downtown core lies Playa La Ropa. It is a wide and protected beach with numerous restaurants right on the beach.
Playa Las Gatos (Zihuatanejo)
Playa Las Gatos and its many beachside palapa restaurants lie across the bay from downtown Zihuatanejo. From Playa La Ropa take a water taxi which crosses the waters of Zihuatanejo Bay or from the fishing pier in downtown Zihuatanejo.
